Five people are on Friday killed in an airplane accident near the Rutor glacier in Aosta valley in northern Italy.

It says rescue service CNSAS on Twitter.

CNSAS has sent two helicopters to the scene with doctors and equipment to cut metal to get the possibly jammed free.

In the message says it was salvaged five deaths.

the Newspaper La Repubblica writes, according to the news agency Reuters on its internet newspaper, that there are at least two severe injuries from the accident. But the CNSAS does not say anything about injuries.

It was a helicopter and a light aircraft, which, for unknown reasons collided in the air.

It is not immediately clear how many were on board in the two machines, or what nationality they are.
