Närakuterna in the Region of Stockholm has made it possible for the usual emergency hospitals to pay more concentrated to patients who have need of the resources that are only available at the emergency hospitals, according to Anna Color Hagansbo, director of the närakutverksamheten in the Stockholm county council area, SLSO.

In January 2018, the introduced changes in the county council’s structure for emergency care. Stockholm now has nine närakuter with the mission ”to provide care for people of all ages with urgent care needs, who are not in need of akutsjukhusets resources and expertise and whose care can’t wait”. The aim of the reform is to increase accessibility and make it easier for citizens to search and get the right care in the right vårdform.

the unloading of the major emergency hospitals have been palpable: In the last year decreased patientantalet on the usual emergency services, with around 60,000 people, equivalent to 12 per cent.

– They have got care on the närakuterna instead. What we wanted to happen has happened, ” she says.

april 4, 2018, introduced a so-called hänvisningsstöd, which is a tool to refer applicants to the right vårdform. The introduction of hänvisningsstödet has been an important factor for health care to give the applicant the right information on where to get the best care based on their symptoms and needs, according to Anna Color Hagansbo.

– My understanding is that the hänvisningsstödet is among the best that have happened, in order to increase accessibility and make it easier to do right from the beginning, ” she says.

can occur when the patients may need to be sent from the närakuten to the emergency hospitals, or vice versa, is difficult to come from, ” says Anna Color Hagansbo on.

– When you enter so it may be a different assessment than the one received over the telephone. When you have the patient in front of him as you can see, you can feel and squeeze, and then it may be a different assessment, ” she says.

She adds that at the same time it has moved quickly to get the general public to make use of the aid.

in Stockholm, however, has not been without friction. DN reported on 17 January in the year if the Hand närakut where skyddsombudet Jörgen Ekström alerted about an ”unsustainable situation” as a result of low staffing in relation to the influx of patients. Skyddsombudet described how the four doctors – two with an early pass and two with a late pass – sometimes together had over one hundred patients to handle per day.

” We are afraid of not having time. The last time it has been a very high workload, and we receive a very large number of vårdsökande that exceeds our resources, ” said Jörgen Ekström and referred to the fact that the doctors were under pressure and that there is therefore a risk for malpractice of patients.

Anna Color Hagansbo tells us that she takes seriously the warning from the skyddsombudet, but adds that in the current period because, according to Jörgen Ekström sometimes must have been a hundred patients per day on average has been 81. The incision has, according to Anna Color Hagansbo thus been lower than the number of patients per day – 82 patients on a daily basis – that the staffing of närakuten have been dimensioned for.

some days can be explained by patienttillströmningen may have been uneven and, therefore, it may have been longer queues on certain days or parts of days.

– on the other hand, the load may vary over the day, throughout the year. Now, for example, there are many who fall or hit themselves when it is slippery out there. We have chosen to arm for a normal load as possible. But in extreme situations, so the staff we up, ” says Anna Color Hagansbo.

She also highlights that the situation on the närakuten in Hand will be better with the move to new premises during the spring.

– The current premises is partially too small. Then it will be crowded in the waiting rooms. We will move to the new, twice as large premises in march. It will be a very big improvement, I hope, ” she says.
