there are Two things to it that make the Belgian artist Koenraad Dedobbeleer distinctive. First of all, we know of no one who gathered more double letters in his name. Secondly, and most importantly: If the husband furnished an exhibition space with his sculptures, then a boulder, and something that looks like an oversized lipstick stand there at the end, for example, piled gymnastics up balls and a group of beech trees in a skin-colored pots.

in Short: It looks as would have supported a Gfätterli in a well-stocked complete with, and then his long suppressed creativity lives, and a wonderfully weird Mix of art and Design has come, somewhere between seriousness and Satire. Minimalist but also playful; a little bit of post-modern, a little bit Seventies, a shot Dada … so, definitely not classically beautiful, but in a funny way, visually a turn-on.

And what that does to us if we go through in between? A visitor from Dedobbeleers last exhibition in Brussels (which is now, somewhat enlarged, to us) has the phenomenon that the scurrility of his works that is transferred after a while to a itself, in an online comment to the point: at some point, “you feel like a garden gnome”.

does any Me-Firstler quite well. In addition, Dedobbeleer scares our scroll gewöhntes See back in the unmoving thing in the world, so it’s Fitness for the eye. And for the brain: Because cryptic titles such as “Am I the Type That Stubbornly Waits for Something to Happen” or “Disruption of the Future” (see picture) stimulate the imagination.
