Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro has confirmed on Thursday his participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The Trip to Switzerland at the end of January is Bolsonaros first trip abroad after taking office.
“I want to go to Davos in Switzerland to attend this Meeting. This will be my first official trip outside of Brazil”, announced the Brazilian President in his first television interview after his inauguration on 1. January.
The WEF meeting, from 21. to 25. January in Davos for its annual meeting. It will take around 3000 decision-makers from politics, business and science. There is also in this year, US President Donald Trump . Bolsonaro is accompanied, according to his Minister of Finance, Paulo Guedes.
The Brazilian head of state said that he had postponed a medical procedure in the hospital at the end of January in Davos. At Operation, an artificial anus should be removed, since a brutal attack on 6. September 2018. The politician was attacked during a campaign event in southern Brazil, on the open road and dangerous to life had been violated.
After the surgery, Bolsonaro has to stay according to one of its surgeons for at least five to seven days in the hospital. Overall, the recovery time is estimated to be about two weeks. (nag/sda)
