The toll road operator Autostrade per l’italia will pay according to the will of the Italian government 400 million euros for the reconstruction of the collapsed highway bridge in Genoa. The company confirmed on Friday “on a daily, constructive” talks with the government-appointed special representative, the Genoa mayor Marco Bucci.
With the money to be financed the new building of the Morandi bridge, and the purchase of empty buildings below the bridge. The extent to which the insurer of the highway around Swiss Re, pay for the damage.
The company which operates 3,000 kilometers of toll motorways in Italy, which is majority owned by the infrastructure group Atlantia, complains that they should pay, but of the reconstruction project is excluded.

The bridge, a part of the A10 coastal motorway, was in the middle of August collapsed. In the process, 43 people were killed. The new building is to cost 202 million euros, and according to the words of Buccis within twelve months to be completed. The contract had been awarded to the largest Italy’s construction company, Salini Impreglio and the shipyard Fincantieri.
