Like Mother like daughter. Rumi Carter, Beyoncé’s second daughter, has just broken a new record, becoming the youngest female artist to join the prestigious Billboard Hot 100. Her duet with her mother on Protector, a title featured on Cowboy Carter, the new album from “Queen B”, earned him 42nd place in the ranking. Her mother is still in second place on the Hot 100 with her single Texas Hold’Em.

With this title, young Rumi Carter, only 6 years old, dethrones her big sister, Blue Ivy. In 2019, when she was only 7 years old, the eldest of the siblings reached number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100 alongside artists such as Beyoncé, Saint Jhn and Wizkid. All four collaborated on the album for the live action remake of The Lion King, more specifically on the title Brown Skin Sugar. Almost five years after its release, the song has more than 100 million plays on the Spotify platform.

Since then, Blue Ivy has been discreet. She made her comeback in 2023, during the Renaissance World Tour, her mother’s XXL tour. Beyoncé allowed him to come dance on stage in sequined costumes and sunglasses, alongside his usual dancers. “My beautiful eldest daughter. I am so proud and grateful to be your mom, wrote Beyoncé on her social networks. You bring us so much joy my angel.”

Despite the success of Beyoncé’s two daughters in the Billboard Hot 100, it is not a member of the Carter family who holds the record in the general chart of the American magazine. Since 1993, it has been held by the French singer Jordy and his title Hard hard to be a baby, released when he was only 5 years old. In France, the single was also a hit, allowing the young artist to stay at number one in the top 50 for 15 weeks in a row.
