It is the first collaboration for Christopher Bailey, since he started to work as creative director at the British fashion house. “Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers that inspired me to do a designer to be”, he wrote about it already on Instagram. “When I was at Burberry started, I knew it was the perfect opportunity would be to be with her to work. The collection includes a double-breasted jacket, a clad pants with a high waist, an oversized silk blouse, and a number of accessories such as a beret and platformschoenen. But the most important piece is without a doubt an oversized T-shirt with handwritten text from Westwood: “Cool Earth has a plan to save the rainforest”. That T-shirt – and, by extension, the entire collection is so clearly dedicated to Cool Earth, a Uk-based non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the rainforest. Income of the particular T-shirt would also go to the charity.
