Nor Erlend Føleide who is a manager in the St1 Norge AS, energy company which operates Shell stations in Norway, can explain why priskrigen broke out. But has similar explanation as the other two companies on why it escalated.
He tells me that their lowest price point in Namsos for the weekend was on 9,74 per liter for diesel and 10,24 for gasoline.
– We feel that we operate in an industry with tough competition. We think that just tough competition was the reason for the low fuel prices in central Namsos, right now for the weekend. It is rare we see such low fuel prices like this, says he in an e-mail to Dagbladet.
