the Engagement of vulnerable children and women, got her in adult life to working as a volunteer in the church. But she has also been active in the Save the Children and in a number of other organisations in civil society. Many times has the minister of culture, Alice Bah Kuhnke met women, children and young people who testified about what they had been subjected to.
– the Seed of my involvement in these issues was sown enough in the church’s children’s group during my childhood in Småland. Talks about the most vulnerable and what you can do for her next was the red thread, tells Alice Bah Kuhnke.
when she was an adult and, among other things, she led as a volunteer caller for the new swedes in Tensta. She was badly affected by what young girls and women testified of the ”between the lines”.
” all Too often, after gruppsessionen ended and it became one meetings, crept in trust until the stories of both psychological and physical violence.
I tried passing several young girls and women on to the social authorities. All who suspect or witness violence have a duty to act. Violence takes different forms, traditions and obsolete structures should never relativized, never glossed over and never stand in the way for people to get their rights respected.
Since the elections of 2014 is Alice Bah Kuhnke miljöpartistisk culture, but she also has the responsibility for democracy issues in the government.
– Men’s violence is an obstacle for many children’s and women’s ability to shape their lives and their future. Violence is therefore an essential question of democracy and a threat to democracy, ” she says.

visited Alice Bah Kuhnke organization MEN and its chairman, Alan Ali, who was interviewed earlier in the week here on the Inside.
– The work that MEN perform is important for many, and may inspire others and it was rewarding to listen to Alan Ali and his experiences.
last autumn’s all call in #metoo testified women about sexual violation, harassment and abuse. In the debate claimed that this is a problem we turned a blind eye for far too long. The same applies to male violence, which is sometimes diminished by comments that ”even women can beat and mistreat”.
– There are women who carry out acts of violence and perpetrators of abuse. But everyone knows that they are few in comparison with men and does not constitute a comparable social problem, points out Alice Bah Kuhnke.
– To use women’s violence as an argument against the fact that we mobilizing against violence in close relationships, which, above all, is men’s violence against women and violence by men against children, is to put out smoke screens to prepare for the changes that need to be implemented.
” I have been a part of a feminist government that had zero tolerance against all forms of violations and violence in close relationships. For the Greens it is obvious that all, men, women, or however you identify, should be able to live their lives in freedom without fear of oppression and the threat of violence.
the beats are individuals, but they together form a pattern, a structure.
” By identifying what gives structure conditions, we can also find the answers on what measures we must put in.
My impression is that violence in society must be addressed broadly and that we must start early by offering boys more opportunities to be and developed.
Studies show that many women and children who have been victims of violence have been in contact with various authorities, but to their vulnerable life situation have been identified.
the government has Alice Bah Kuhnke been to provide the social Insurance office, the employment service, the Swedish migration board and the national Board of health mandated to develop methods to better be able to capture vulnerable women and children in an early stage.
been commissioned to further develop methods to treat the men that beat and the prison service have been required to become better at meeting men who hit their partners. The penalties for this type of crime has also been strengthened.
– the Government and parliament, that is to say, we politicians have a great responsibility to authorities and other public actors must have the resources to work with these issues. But civil society, including non-profit organizations, and can often early see when people are in distress. I have the experience having worked on a volunteer basis for many years.
Alice Bah Kuhnke points out that words such as ”whore”, ”slut” and other degrading expressions are a part of a culture that reduces women and create the conditions for violence. That is why initiatives like the Locker room talk in Sweden so good, she thinks. It is a non-profit organization working for gender equality and decent attitudes, including by training young guys in sports clubs and schools.

– We need such examples in other sectors of society. It’s all about the jargong and on the way to be that has to change, ” says Alice Bah Kuhnke, emphatically.
A number of studies suggest that children who are exposed to violence or witnessing violence in their close environment later in life are at greater risk of developing an aggressive behavior.
” I try to take part of the research in the field, but is so clearly not an expert. I understand, however, that many factors can interact. My image is that violence in society must be addressed broadly and that we must start early by offering boys more opportunities to be and developed.
– We can’t restrict the boys ‘ development, and lives to certain predetermined narrow limits to which they will be squeezed into. And we need a big toolbox, for there is not a specific tool that fits in all contexts.
