Sweden is forcing the children to stay out in the street
the Debaters: today regulated immigration by putting pressure on the minors
This is an opinion piece. It is the writer who stands for the views that are put forward in the text, not the newspaper Aftonbladet.
DEBATE. In Sweden today, there are thousands of children and young people without access to basic rights such as shelter and food for the day. Children according to the crc have the same right to education, health care, recreation, health, and development as all other children in our country.
instead of a secure existence is characterised of these children and young people’s everyday life by an extreme vulnerability that leads to major mental illness, self harm and where the risk of exploitation is high.
At the weekend, collected this year’s recipients of the Child 10 Award for a barnrättstoppmöte in Malmö. Child 10 Award goes this year to the ten persons who, by their organizations in different ways are fighting for the children in the papperslöshet.
We Swedish laureates and partners in the Child 10 look with despair at the consequences of recent years ‘ tight immigration policies and restrictions in the welfare and requires immediate action to ensure these children and young people’s basic rights.
The signalpolitik which began in 2015 has resulted in young asylum seekers who had previously been granted a residence permit now to a greater extent is rejected and forced out on the street, completely without the support from the Swedish authorities. Keeping pace with that migration policies have been tightened to also have many of the protection systems that affect young unaccompanied been dismantled.
An example of this, as Barnrättsbyrån shows in its report, the Betrayal, the changes in the social services compensation scheme, which means a razor-sharp limit at the 18-the anniversary.
A day of Swedish young people often yearn for unaccompanied young people that they must leave their accommodation, their school, their network and the security they created themselves and move to one of the Swedish Migration boards accommodation centres for adults.
in Addition, without knowing where in the country it is place. If young people choose to stay, for example, to go to school, they get no help with housing.
A large group that is affected by these changes has not attained the age of 18 without written up in the age of the migration board, either without justification or through medical åldersbedömningar.
Åldersbedömningarna has long, regardless of performance, has been controversial because of the lack of research data and is perhaps the most obvious example of the lack of the rule of law that affects these children and young people.
To åldersbedömningarna is a judicial scandal has, among others, FARR shown in the report \
When a person has received a final decision that the hen may not stay in Sweden is expected the person to return to their homeland. It is a reasonable starting point if the person in question has received a fair trial and can return without risk to life and safety.
the Reality is, however, much more complex than that.
Children and young people who live in papperslöshet are expected many times to return to the countries at war and countries where they have no family or relatives.
According to the Aliens act may unaccompanied children under the age of 18 years may not be expelled to their country of origin if there is no orderly receipt on site, it is to say that a close relative or equivalent to take care of the child in the home country.
Despite this, it has become increasingly common that children are given the expulsion order, without any arranged reception. In those cases, the decision is enforced on the expulsion on the same day that the child becomes 18. Can, or dare not leave Sweden is the social service’s limited support often the last lifeline.
Many may not, however, the help they are entitled to, which means that they are pushed further and further out on the margins of society.
For children living in Sweden with parents who are undocumented are earning just as great. As the children live with the knowledge that the police can look after you and your parents leads to an extremely stressful daily life marked by concerns over the to be discovered or that happen to be speaking. When the parents of the child nor receive any financial support in order to support his family, the child becomes more exposed.
in Order to thoroughly investigate the consequences of recent years ‘ migration policy and to ensure that similar crimes against the rights of the child does not occur in the future, it will be a granskningskommission.
The newly elected politicians need knowledge of what the consequences of old decisions got to be able to make new ones that look best for the children. The children who live in Sweden today, however, cannot wait on a review. We therefore require immediately:
Sweden has a regulated immigration. With that said, Sweden has not the right to regulate immigration by putting pressure on the children.
We demand that the politicians in coming to the settlement must agree on how this should be avoided in the future and how affected children and young people should get redress. 1 January 2020 will be the crc in Swedish law and Swedish law is characterized by an barnrättsbaserat approach. Today we have a long way to go there.
