The children’s team led by Edwin Hoogenraat won a bronze medal in the Nations Cup in Hagen, just like the Juniors did yesterday. Liv Linssen, Mienie Vos, Lieselot Kooremans, and Stella Heijligers took home the medal with a total of eight penalty points. Kooremans, riding the eleven-year-old mare Nini Van HD (v. I’m Special de Muze), had two clear rounds. Liv Linssen and the nine-year-old mare Cini W Z (v. Comme Il Faut) had one jumping fault in the first round but cleared the second round with no faults. Mienie Vos and the chestnut gelding Sire de Beau Soleil (v. Esterel Des Bois) had four faults in both rounds. Stella Heijligers, the last rider, managed to keep all the poles up in the first round with Go Go (v. A Lee Spring Power) but unfortunately had two poles down in the second round, resulting in a total of eight faults and a shared third place with Germany.
In a thrilling tiebreaker, Ireland came out on top against Switzerland with a total of four penalty points each. All eight combinations had clear rounds, making time the deciding factor.
In the Nations Cup for Ponies, under Mans Baumann, Lieselot Kooremans, Amy Tan, Joelle Muijres, and Lois Wilschut competed for the Netherlands. Kooremans kept the score at four in the first round with Elando van de Roshoeve (v. Rebus G), but unfortunately, the rest of the team had many faults. Once again, Ireland (2 penalty points) claimed victory, achieving a team hattrick (Juniors, Ponies, and Children) in Hagen.
Bethany Vos also had individual success, securing a fifth place with Nashville B (v. Nibelungenheld) and a second place with Still Got Me (v. Coral Reef Follow Me II) in the 1.30m direct on time.
Yfke Priem had the best Dutch result in the Juniors Grand Prix with Kessel HX (v. Cardento), finishing tenth after a faultless first round but four penalty points in the tiebreaker.
Overall, it was a successful competition for the Dutch riders in the Nations Cup in Hagen, with both team and individual achievements highlighting their skill and dedication in the sport of show jumping.
