The Stade Toulousain scorer spoke at length to our colleagues at Midi Olympique. He, among other things, returned to his status as a substitute during the Champions Cup semi-final against Harlequins. Ugo Mola preferred, at full-back, the Scotsman Blair Kinghorn.

“I felt a lot of frustration not to start a match of this importance. Every rugby player dreams of starting in the Champions Cup semi-final at home, at the Stadium, in front of 35,000 people. It was hard to take at the time, admits Thomas Ramos. But that’s how it is, it’s high-level sport. I knew that I was going to come on and that, as always, the substitutes would have an important role to play. I tried to focus on that and ignore my personal disappointment.”
