Having taken advantage of Lensoise’s errors, the Niçois played against the Sang et Or who were completely foiled (3-0). Terem Moffi scored his double (9th, 66th) while Khephren Thuram scored his first goal of the season (53rd). Elye Wahi finally found the net after a complicated match to revive Lensois hopes (3-1). The Lensois mark a real break before the international break while the Aiglons go off to rest with a smile.
The Sang et Or paid dearly for their missed start to the match. Pressed from the kick-off, Franck Haise’s men were unable to get the ball out because of the pressure from the Aiglons. Under this pressure, Facundo Medina lost the ball to Mohamed-Ali Cho who was heading towards the goal. When it was time to challenge Brice Samba, he served perfectly Terem Moffi who had followed him well and pushed the ball into the back of the net to give the Gym the advantage (0-1, 9th). Shaken by this start to the match, the locals lacked solutions and were unable to respond to these Nice offensives.
Elye Wahi was found numerous times in the area but missed his controls or his shots and the Lensois remained at distance. On a strike from Florian Sotoca, Dante deflected this attempt with his hand but the referee did not whistle and the Niçois did well in this situation. With the goal digested, the Sang et Or finally managed to project themselves into this end of the first act but lacked precision in the last gestures and returned to the locker room. At the restart, the Lensois thought they would get back into the game with a goal from Elye Wahi, ultimately flagged offside. On the following action, Nampalys Mendy lost another dangerous ball in front of his area against Cho, who served Khephren Thuram. The latter deceived Brice Samba at point blank range to make the break and deliver a real blow to the heads of the Lensois (0-2, 53rd).
About ten minutes later, as they pushed to try to come back, the Lensois once again offered their opponents a goal. From a harmless corner, Abdukodir Khusanov surrounded Rosario in the area. The referee logically whistled a penalty which Moffi was responsible for transforming to bring the gap to three goals in this match (0-3, 66th). Stung in their pride, the Sang et Or still saved their honor thanks to a goal from Elye Wahi who finally deceived the Nice goalkeeper with a powerful left-footed strike (1-3, 75th). But mentally and physically exhausted, they never found the mental and physical resources to get back up to par.
