AC Milan, 2024 Italian vice-champion, announced on Friday that it was terminating the contract of Stefano Pioli, its coach since 2019, who will lead the Lombard team one last time on Saturday on the occasion of the 38th and last day of the Italian Championship.
“AC Milan and Stefano Pioli announce that they will not continue their collaboration next season,” AC Milan said in a press release. Pioli, who gave Milan their 19th Italian championship title in 2022, was under contract until June 2025.
On the departure of Lille, Paulo Fonseca could be the next coach of the Rossoneri next season. He would be on pole to replace Pioli next season. Sergio Conceicao, OM’s priority to replace Jean-Louis Gasset, is also followed by the Milanese board. The former coach of FC Nantes even favors the Lombard club.
