San Francisco (California) will host the 2025 edition of the Laver Cup, an exhibition tennis competition between teams from Europe and the rest of the world created in 2017, the organizers announced on Thursday. “The Chase Center, where the Golden State Warriors play at home in the NBA, will host the Laver Cup from September 19 to 21, 2025,” the organizers said in a press release.
This exhibition born in 2017 is organized by the company Team 8 managed by Roger Federer and his agent Tony Godsick. It opposes – on a principle reminiscent of the golf Ryder Cup – two teams of 6 players: one, under the captaincy of the Swede Björn Borg, is made up of European players, the other, under the captaincy of the American John McEnroe , is made up of players from the rest of the world.
The seventh edition this year will take place in Berlin (September 20-22), according to the principle of alternating host cities, in Europe and the rest of the world. The teams for Berlin have not yet been fully revealed, but Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev are announced to defend the European colors.
