A box of Hénaff pâté… garnished with a marriage proposal! This is the astonishing gift that a happy Breton is about to receive. The family business from Finistère which produces the famous preserves told X that it received this strange request at the beginning of May from a customer who wanted to make her marriage proposal a unique moment. Because if the lady is not Breton, her partner is “pikouzé au pâté Hénaff”.

Although curious, the initiative appealed to the employees of the Jean Hénaff group who asked the workers at the pâté packaging factory to slip the request into an empty box. This happens at the start of production, “when we pass the first empty boxes to control the flow,” says the company. “Then the workshop manager calls in the maintenance team because it is a matter of slowing down the seamer so that the can does not fly into the chutes because it is too light, and of deactivating the steam jet so as not to ruin the precious manuscript.”

Once sealed, the box containing the sweet message was ’time-stamped for posterity’ – and for added realism. It then left the Pouldreuzic factory, shipped in a package to the address of the lucky recipient. If the company promises to keep Internet users informed of the outcome of this beautiful story of “love, glory and pâté”, there is no doubt that the request will have its small effect on the Breton. Or perhaps he will be disappointed, when he opens the box, not to find his favorite pâté…
