This third major success in a row, after the defeats at West Ham (6-0) and Burnley (5-0), allows them to consolidate their third position, with 58 points, two units less than Liverpool and one less than Manchester City, painful winner earlier at Bournemouth (1-0).
Arsenal will be able to put a little more pressure on these two teams, who meet in two weeks at Anfield, if by then they confirm their rank in Sheffield and ahead of Brentford.

Newcastle, eighth in the standings, definitely no longer has anything to do with the team which stifled these same Gunners during the first leg (1-0), on November 4.
