Fitbit Ace LTE: The Ultimate Smartwatch, Pet, and Walkie Talkie for Kids
Fitbit has unveiled a new smartwatch designed specifically for children, packed with features to keep them active and facilitate communication.
The Fitbit Ace LTE aims to get children aged seven and up moving outdoors while providing parents with peace of mind. This smartwatch can connect to mobile internet and constantly shares the child’s location with parents. With a 4G connection, the Ace can also make calls, allowing parents to check in on their kids anytime.
In addition to keeping parents informed, the smartwatch is focused on encouraging children to stay active. The Ace offers multiple interactive games where kids earn points by running, jumping, and rolling. Google promises to expand the game library monthly.
Furthermore, Google is reintroducing a digital friend or pet called an eejie. Children must care for their eejie by staying active. The healthier the child, the healthier their eejie will be.
The Fitbit Ace is both physically and digitally protected. Currently available only in the United States for $229.95, the smartwatch has protective cases available. It features Gorilla Glass 3 and is water-resistant up to 50 meters. The battery lasts for 16 hours, and children can navigate through menus using the side buttons.
Google also ensures good digital security by deleting location information after 24 hours and other collected data after a month. To track the smartwatch’s location as a parent, you need to download the Fitbit app. A monthly subscription fee of $9.99, which includes mobile data, is required.
