English club Fulham announced on Tuesday the signing of Belgian defender Timothy Castagne from Leicester, a club relegated to the Championship (D2) at the end of last season.

The London team specifies in its press release that the 27-year-old right-back has signed a contract until 2027, with an option of an additional 12 months. The amount of the transaction is estimated at approximately 15 million pounds (approximately 17.5 million euros).

“It has been a long period (of transfer window), but I am finally here, and I am happy about it”, explained the former player of Atalanta Bergamo (Italy) to the TV channel of the Premier League club. “It’s a big relief. I spoke to the coach and I can’t wait to start training and playing,” he added.

Castagne, who spent three seasons at Leicester and made 33 appearances in the Red Devils shirt, could make his Fulham debut on Saturday at defending champions Manchester City.
