Max Verstappen’s ninth consecutive victory this Sunday at Zandvoort (ahead of Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly) confirmed the absolute domination of the Dutchman over the Formula 1 season (which in passing equaled the number of consecutive successes established by the German Sebastian Vettel in 2013).
An unchallenged domination which tends to trivialize the performance of the Red Bull driver, according to Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard (3rd in the driver standings) pointed out to the BBC: “Sometimes we underestimate what Max is achieving. Winning so dominantly in any sport is so complicated…”
Next meeting, the Italian Grand Prix, on September 3rd.
