Chelsea English, relieved of two goalkeepers this summer, announced the recruitment of Serbian Djordje Petrovic, 23, from New England Revolution in the United States, introducing new competition for Robert Sanchez, also recruited in the off-season.
This summer, the Londoners lost their two goalkeepers from last season: Edouard Mendy joined Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia and Kepa Arrizabalaga left on loan for a season at Real Madrid to make up for the absence of Belgian Thibaut Courtois, injured.
After the Spaniard Sanchez, holder since his arrival from Brighton, the Blues announced on Saturday evening the recruitment of Petrovic with a contract for seven seasons, plus an option.
With New England Revolution, an MLS club he joined in April 2022, the Serbian international (two caps) played 21 games.
