Childbirth in the air. It is an unusual story that moved all the passengers on a flight from Paris to Fort-de-France on Monday August 24. In this Air Caraïbes flight from Orly airport, a pregnant woman gave birth in the back of the aircraft, reports franceinfo Martinique.

It was an hour before arrival that a message sounded in the cockpit of flight TX514: the cabin crew asked if doctors were on board. Luckily, three people – a nurse, an intern and an extern in medicine – were able to help this woman give birth.

The rest of the passengers on the plane would not have heard anything, and it was only after landing that the birth of the little boy was announced over the loudspeakers. The happy news was applauded in unison and the newborn and his mother, both in good health, were taken care of by the rescuers.
