The pillar of the Blues Cyril Baille, injured in the right calf in mid-August, should return to training “within three to four weeks”, said Tuesday the health manager of the XV of France Bruno Boussagol. “He is continuing his rehabilitation with us. He was partially discharged from his calf injury. His recovery is optimal for the moment, he will resume normal support from tomorrow, ”explained Boussagol at a press conference.
“The idea is to take him to the fourth or fifth week so that he can resume, if all goes well and he passes the stages, with the group within three to four weeks”, he added. Baille (29, 44 caps) was injured in the second warm-up match against Scotland in Saint-Étienne in mid-August. The Toulousain must be absent for five to six weeks and his return is expected in mid-September.
The XV of France is in training camp in Capbreton before facing Australia, Sunday, at the Stade de France. The Blues start the World Cup with a giant opening match against the All Blacks on September 8, before facing Uruguay (September 14) and Namibia (September 21) and finishing the group stage against the Italy (October 6).
