The Jumbo-Visma formation will lose one of its road captains at the end of the season. Dutch rider Jos van Emden has announced he will retire at the end of the season. He who started his career at Rabobank, the predecessor of Jumbo-Visma, joined the group as soon as he turned professional in 2008. At 38, he has competed in fourteen Grand Tours, eleven times the Giro d’Italia, twice the Tour de France and once the Tour of Spain. In 13 years with the pros, he has won 14 victories, his most prestigious being that of the Giro time trial in 2017. He was also crowned Dutch time trial champion three times in 2010, 2019 and 2023 .Van Emden is the first road captain to end his career, next year Robert Gesink will make the same decision, the Dutch climber has also remained faithful to his training since 2007.
