American actor Angus Cloud, known for being one of the headliners of the Euphoria series, died Monday July 31 at the age of 25, his family announced. The cause of his death has not been revealed. The comedian played drug dealer Fezco “Fez” O’Neill in the HBO series, which won multiple Emmy Awards. “The only comfort we have is knowing that Angus is now reunited with his father, who was his best friend,” his family said in a statement shared by Cloud’s publicist.
The actor had been dealing with the recent death of his father and suffered from mental health issues, according to the statement. “Angus spoke openly about his battle with mental illness and we hope his passing will remind others that they are not alone and should not fight alone in silence,” added his family.
Euphoria is one of HBO’s biggest hits. It chronicles the dark lives of contemporary American teenagers, for whom drug addiction and sexual violence are part of everyday life. The soap opera had allowed Angus Cloud to get his first role. He had been spotted by a casting director while walking with friends on the streets of Brooklyn, New York.
