The first Japanese in history to be crowned in saber last year, Misaki Emura scored twice at the World Fencing Championships on Thursday in Milan. The 24-year-old swordsman dominated the Greek Despina Georgiadou (15-11) in the final, a student of the French master of the weapon, Christian Bauer, also the coach of the Georgian Sandro Bazadze, silver medalist in the men’s category.
