16-year-old Canadian Summer McIntosh won gold in the 200m butterfly on Thursday in Fukuoka (Japan), her second medal at these World Swimming Championships. McIntosh, who will turn 17 in August, won in 2 min 04 sec 06/100, beating her own junior world record. She had pocketed a bronze medal the day before in the 200m freestyle.
The Canadian swimmer is ahead of Australian Elizabeth Dekkers by more than a second, in 2 min 05 sec 46/100. American Regan Smith takes third place.
