French backstroker Mewen Tomac validated his ticket for the 200m backstroke final on Thursday at the Worlds in Fukuoka (Japan) while Antoine Herlem was eliminated in the semi-finals. Mewen Tomac, 21, led her semi-final until the last length before being picked up to finish in fourth place.

He nevertheless signed the fifth fastest time in the semi-finals and thus qualified without problem for the final scheduled for Friday. Antoine Herlem also finished fourth in his half, but only achieved the tenth fastest time and therefore saw his journey come to an end at the gates of the final.
