French striker Moussa Dembélé, free after the expiry of his contract with Olympique Lyonnais on July 1, has signed up with Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, the club announced on its social networks on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old player, after five years spent in the colors of OL, joined the club now coached by Steven Gerrard, seventh in the last Saudi championship. The duration of the contract and the salary received by the player were not disclosed by the club. Moussa Dembélé played 172 games for Lyon, during which he scored 70 goals and delivered 19 assists.
The Dammam club continues its ambitious recruitment: after announcing the arrival on its bench of the former glory of Liverpool Steven Gerrard, the Saudi club also formalized on Wednesday the signing of Scottish defender Jack Hendry, 27, from FC Bruges.
Reds captain Jordan Henderson, 33, is also tipped to join Al-Ettifaq, after announcing he was leaving Liverpool in an Instagram post.
