Japan beat Costa Rica (2-0) on Wednesday in Dunedin, a second success in as many games which should allow them to qualify for the round of 16 of the Women’s World Cup.
The Japanese will get their ticket to the knockout phase if Spain win or draw against Zambia (2:30 p.m.). Goals from Hikaru Naomoto (25th) and Aoba Fujino (27th) ended the match in the first period.
