In total there are five holidays established until April arrives, regardless of the local holidays designated by each city council or corporation.
Only one of them is common to the entire national territory, but in some territories it is possible to add some holidays and non-school days in which to take a break and get out of the routine.
Andalusia Day is celebrated on Wednesday, February 28. As the following Thursday is non-school in said autonomous community (Teachers’ Day), Andalusians can enjoy a long weekend if they can take off on Friday, March 1.
Residents in the Balearic Islands also celebrate the Diada this Friday, March 1, which adds up to four days if parents can also have February 29 off, non-school time in the archipelago.
In Madrid there are no holidays in February, but the autonomous community has declared Thursday the 22nd and Friday the 23rd non-school days, which added to the weekend, adds up to four days.
Also in March, residents in Murcia and the Valencian Community will be able to enjoy this year Tuesday the 19th (San José), to which those who can afford it can add Monday the 18th for a four-day long weekend of rest.
Already at the end of March, the quintessential spring holiday is celebrated, Easter, which in 2024 falls a few days earlier than in previous years and just into spring (March 20).
Almost all of Spain, except Catalonia and the Valencian Community, will be able to enjoy four days in a row on March 28 and 29, adding Holy Thursday and Good Friday to the weekend, except in the case of these last two communities, which only have a holiday on Friday. 29 and therefore they will have three.
