The PSG version Luis Enrique experienced its first beginnings this Friday in a friendly against Le Havre. 2-0 victory against the outgoing Ligue 2 champion thanks to goals from Hugo Ekitike and Kylian Mbappé.
Note the tenures of four rookies, Lucas Hernandez, Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte and Kang-In Lee. The South Korean came out injured, hit in the knee. Milan Skriniar and Cher Ndour played the second half.
The start of the meeting was calm. Too calm. The first 20 minutes of the match served to warm up, on the Parisian side, at best. The latter redoubled the passes, settling in the opposing half of the field. The chances were very few, apart from the off-target attempt by young Ismael Gharbi (11th).
The Normans were able, for their part, to work on their defensive cohesion with this 5-4-1 proposed by Luka Elsner. PSG have always waited to have doubled the passes before being dangerous. It took until the 30th minute to see Marco Asensio and the Parisians really attacking. Luis Enrique’s men return to the locker room with the score 0-0… but also with Kang-in Lee touching the back of his thigh.
10 PSG players changed at the start of the second half. On the HAC side, although there have also been some changes, it is above all the mentality that has been modified. The Le Havre were more aggressive on the Parisian raises. But, Ekitike (53) then Kylian Mbappé (89th), returned in the 64th minute of play, got the better of Le Havre’s defensive base and allowed PSG to win 2-0.
