Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation, is at the heart of a scandal, as revealed by L’Equipe. The former international striker (118 caps) is suspected of having favored the rise in L1 of Victoria United.

It all starts with a recording of a telephone conversion in which Eto’o assures Valentin Kwain, president of Victoria United, of his support to ensure the club’s rise to the top flight. A feat that the team managed to do at the end of the last season.

Between his disputed management of the André Onana case, laid off from the selection during the World Cup in Qatar, his illegal role as ambassador of a sports betting company, his choice to separate from the equipment manufacturer Le Coq Sportif and now this potential corruption scandal, the mandate of Samuel Eto’o at the head of Fecafoot is tainted with business. Fifa is said to be watching his case closely.
