The president of Lille, Olivier Létang declared himself “very disappointed” with the elimination of Losc in the Coupe de France, Wednesday in Lyon (2-1), pointing out “a lack of aggressiveness which does not allow us to claim better » than the result against OL.

“In the Coupe de France, you have to pass. The Lyonnais were more aggressive than us and we missed too many things to pass. In the Coupe de France, you have to give much more than that,” he lamented after the match, referring to “too much technical waste”.

“The high level does not suffer from inconsistency. You have to be consistent from one match to another. I hope this serves as a lesson to a number of players. After the victory against Clermont (4-0), some saw themselves as too good and the high level is unforgivable in terms of attitudes,” added the northern leader.

“I hope the boys will now show something different, similar to what we saw against Clermont. This desire, this aggressiveness, you have to have it in all matches otherwise the end of the season will be boring,” insisted Olivier Létang. “This group is capable of achieving great things provided they have a level of consistency in all matches and a different state of mind from what we saw against Lyon. And we got the result we deserved. What interests me is not to deliver a big match in Paris on Saturday and come back down the next match,” warned the LOSC president.

“It will be a gala match but we must play all the matches like gala matches. It’s a question of attitude. We have two competitions left, Ligue 1 and the European Cup. The verdict will be on the pitch and the best response will come from the players on the pitch,” he concluded.
