Carlos Alcaraz, who won the Wimbledon tournament on Sunday for the first time in his career at the expense of his runner-up Novak Djokovic, consolidated his place as world No.1 in the ATP ranking published on Monday.

The 20-year-old Spaniard is now 880 points ahead of the 36-year-old Serb, whom he beat in five sets in the final, but he will have to defend in September the 2,000 points acquired last year with his victory in the US Open 2022 in which Djokovic did not participate due to his vaccination status.

The Russian Daniil Medvedev remains 3rd, at a respectable distance from the first two. There are no other changes to the Top 10.

The American Tommy Paul gains a place and steals the 14th world rank from the Croatian Borna Coric. This is the 26-year-old Australian Open 2023 semi-finalist’s career-best ranking.

The Polish Hubert Hurkacz climbs to 17th place in place of the Australian Alex De Minaur.

The German Alexander Zverev, up two places, returns to the Top 20, in 19th position.

Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, down one place, is 20th.

In the rest of the Top 100, the Russian Roman Safiullin, now 43rd, recorded the best progress of the week after reaching the quarters at Wimbledon, with a gain of 49 places which allowed him to obtain the best ranking of his career.

The American Christopher Eubanks, who also reached the quarters of the London tournament, also occupies the best ranking of his career, at 31st in the world, up 12 places.
