Good news for users of tricolor trains. 300,000 TGV and Intercités tickets will be sold between 19 and 49 euros, only on Monday July 31 and Tuesday August 1, the SNCF said on Monday July 17. An announcement that comes as the public company has just decided to increase the capped rates of the Advantage card by ten euros.

“We want to allow those who book at the last minute to be able to travel by train”, informed Alain Krakovitch, the director of TGV-Intercités (TGV Inoui, Ouigo, Intercités, Europe), in Paris. “The vast majority” of these tickets will be sold “at 29 and 39 euros”, added the representative. “Not everyone can plan their holidays several months in advance and benefit from the best prices when sales open,” he then concluded.

Borrowing an offbeat tone on Twitter, Monday morning, the director of TGV-Intercités sent a “message for (our) young customers who have the Avantage card”. “We offer you an additional 10 euros off your next ticket,” he said, wishing them a “good summer”. And to announce that these young customers will also be able to benefit from a 30% reduction at the bar.

At the same time, users who would like to travel at low prices will also be able to benefit from another offer, intended for Intercités. The Minister Delegate for Transport Clément Beaune announced on Monday that there were “more than 100,000 tickets” left at 19 euros out of the 200,000 which had been put on sale from July 7 for journeys between July 7 and November. August 31. Supposed to end this Saturday, July 15, the operation was finally extended “until August 31” and “the depletion of stocks”, specified the member of the government.
