Les Vieilles Charrues, which brought together nearly 280,000 festival-goers in 2022, will be held from July 13 to 17, 2023 in Carhaix, Brittany. The festival will begin with the Belgian singer Pierre de Maere, discovered with his title Un jour je marie un ange, crowned Male Revelation at the Victoires de la Musique 2023. After four years of absence, festival-goers will find Disiz again. The artist will come to defend his album L’Amour released last year, which includes the title Rencontre produced in collaboration with the rapper Damso and which became a diamond single.
Celine Dion, who was initially scheduled in the festival line-up but was forced to cancel for health reasons, will be replaced by Robbie Williams. The 49-year-old British singer, who had not performed at a French festival since Solidays 1999, will celebrate his 25-year career at Carhaix. True regulars at the Vieilles Charrues, having been there in 2015, 2018, and in 2019 in a surprise concert alongside Petit Biscuit, the two Toulouse brothers BigFlo and Oli return once again to the stage of the Breton festival to present their latest l album The others are us. British band Blur, pop superstars in the 1990s, set off on their festival tour again this summer with a much-anticipated stop at the Breton festival. On July 14, festival-goers will also have the opportunity to enjoy the hits of rock band Shaka Ponk. On a farewell tour, the group formed in the early 2000s decided to separate at the end of this final tour to devote themselves to the ecological cause.
On the rap side, we will find Gazo, crowned male artist of the year 2023 at the Flames, the new rap ceremony. On the pop side, festival-goers will have the pleasure of meeting Jain, who has released a new album entitled The Fool after a four-year break, but also Adé, the singer from the former Thérapie Taxi who is going solo on country tunes- pop. Rap fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the beats of “the emperor of the dirty”, aka Lorenzo. The artist, who retired from the world of music on the release of his latest album Living Legend with unpredictable collaborations, between Heuss l’enfoiré, Vladimir Cauchemar or even Jean Dujardin, bids farewell to his fans in a final tour .
Les Vieilles Charrues also hosts the rock and electro group Phoenix, one of the most renowned French bands abroad. After more than 20 years of career, the Versailles quartet released their seventh album Alpha Zulu last November. To close this fourth day of the festival, the Marseilles Soprano, interpreter of En feu, Le Coach or Cosmo, will shake the Breton event. A performance eagerly awaited by fans, and which will be an opportunity for the festival to inaugurate its first concert “100% accessible in sign language”, as it announced on its networks. For the first year since the creation of the festival, the Vieilles Charrues will last five days in 2023! And icing on the cake with the Californian group Red Hot Chili Peppers, who, on a world tour, will perform on this last day of the festival.
