World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka, after falling to the brink on Friday at Wimbledon, followed up on Saturday with a quieter victory in the third round against Russian Anna Blinkova (40th) 6-2, 6-3. The 25-year-old Belarusian, who is one of the favorites of the tournament, will face another Russian to try to climb into the quarters, Ekaterina Alexandrova (22nd) who eliminated Hungarian Dalma Galfi 6-0, 6-4.
Semi-finalist in 2021, Sabalenka was banned from the tournament last year like other Russian and Belarusian players due to the war in Ukraine.
