She replaces François de Brugada, who has been appointed managing director of the group’s new subsidiary, Banijay Events. The leader will officially take office on September 1 and will report to Marco Bassetti, CEO of Banijay.

In the audiovisual sector, the name of Alexia Laroche-Joubert is associated with major entertainment franchises. “Alexia Laroche-Joubert has succeeded throughout her career in installing many brands such as Loft Story, Star Academy, Secret Story, Les Ch’tis, Les Marseillais, Popstars…”, indicates the group in a press release. She also “modernized the Miss France beauty pageant, placing it among the two most watched entertainment programs in France”.

After 10 years spent in the bosom of the Canal group, she returned to TF1 as editor-in-chief then joined Endemol France as program director. Joining Banijay in 2016, she previously held the position of president of Aventure Line Productions (ALP), the company Miss France and Screen Line Productions.

The new CEO is about to take the reins of a company comprising 15 streaming and fiction subsidiaries. “Banijay France is a support structure for all the entrepreneurs at the head of the group’s subsidiaries. I want to develop this support by providing them with logistical, artistic support and analysis of market developments so that they continue to shine and impose themselves in the French media.
