Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), 2nd in the Austrian Grand Prix, at a press conference: “When you finally see a little more potential to fight at the front, it feels good. Of course, for the championship, I think it will be difficult to come back and win it. But there are still a lot of things to work on. I see how great the motivation is within the team and how hard they work at the factory to make improvements quickly, which gives me the confidence and motivation to work whenever I am in track. I can’t wait to be at Silverstone (next Sunday, editor’s note), it’s a very different circuit. We are all determined to try to come back and win as soon as possible. Even if we are 150 points behind (157, Editor’s note), a victory would do us good and we are all working in this direction”.
Pierre Gasly (Alpine) 9th, at the microphone of Canal: “It was a difficult race, the car is really difficult to drive and I think we maximized the chances and the points we could score today. Afterwards, we will really have to unlock the potential, the speed (…) to go and fight with the Astons (Martin). (…) It’s good to score a few points, but we want to get more, fight for better places, and for that we’ll have to manage to find performance and that’s what should to arrive with the evolutions on the next races”.
Esteban Ocon (Alpine) 12th, at the microphone of Canal: “Not a good race, clearly the penalty for sure did not help, we deserve it because we come out clearly (in the pit lane, editor’s note) with a Williams on the side. (…) The speed was not very good, clearly we were not going as fast as the previous races so we have a bit of work to see why the car was not as good this weekend and come back stronger to England in a few days (next Sunday). We have some ideas in any case of why it was not at the top.
