11th Hour Racing Team has won The Ocean Race 2022-23. The team was leading the race overall with only one stage remaining when, on June 25 in The Hague, barely 27 minutes after the start, the team was forced to retire following a collision with a competitor.

The team has filed a requisition with the International Jury of World Sailing. Following this Thursday morning’s hearing, the Jury awarded 4 compensation points to the 11th Hour Racing Team, a sufficient figure to take first place in the general classification.

“I am absolutely thrilled,” commented Skipper Charlie Enright (USA). “This race takes everything from you – emotionally, mentally and physically. I am incredibly proud of our entire team who have worked tirelessly for three years to get here. There have been highs, incredible highs, but also lows that have knocked us all down, but they were all worth hearing this news today.”
