Connor McDavid, the Oilers’ star center since 2015, was selected on 195 of 196 ballots by a media panel, picking up this individual award for the third time after 2017 and 2021. He was also honored by his peers, who awarded him the Ted Lindsay Trophy, also rewarding the most outstanding player of the season.
He had a memorable season, becoming the first player in 27 years to break the 150-point threshold in a season (64 goals 89 assists) and only the sixth in history to set that statistic. McDavid, crowned with Canada in 2016 at the world level, has however never won the Stanley Cup, final of the North American League, with Edmonton.
