The latest superhero film from Warner Bros. studios, The Flash, took the lead at the French box office, dethroning Transformers robots, according to figures released Wednesday by CBO Box-Office. The feature film, with an estimated budget of 200 million dollars, brought together nearly 400,000 spectators for its first week of operation. In The Flash, Ezra Miller reprises his character as Barry Allen and uses his superpowers to time travel in hopes of saving his family. The release of this film had been postponed several times due to the pandemic but also to the erratic behavior of its main actor, involved in several cases examined by the courts.

In second place on the podium, the last Spider-Man hangs on and passes the one million spectators mark in three weeks. This new version combines the timeless pencil stroke of comics with the latest computer-assisted animation techniques. Then comes Transformers, with nearly 228,000 admissions, closely followed by The Little Mermaid, a remake of the 1989 cartoon, which has accumulated more than a million admissions since its release.

At the end of the top 5 of the ranking, the latest installment of Fast and Furious, with more than 87,000 entries. As for French cinema, crushed by American blockbusters, Love and the forests of Valérie Donzelli, a dark chronicle of a toxic relationship, has accumulated more than 551,000 admissions.
