The Polish Iga Swiatek still occupies first place in the WTA rankings published on Monday while the French Caroline Garcia falls out of the Top 20. Swiatek is 865 points ahead of her runner-up, the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, recent winner of the Australian Open . There are no changes in the Top 10.
Crowned on Sunday in Linz, the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko took 11th place at the expense of the Czech Barbora Krejcikova. Defeated in the final in Linz, the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova gained two ranks and now occupies 19th place.
Caroline Garcia, down one place to 21st place, had not left the WTA Top 20 since August 2022. The French N.1 notably pays for her elimination in the second round of the Australian Open .
As for the other French players, Clara Burel obtained the best ranking of her career at 22 years old, after her elimination in the quarter-finals in Austria. The native of Rennes progressed eight positions to settle in 44th place in the world. If Varvara Gracheva, 46th, and Diane Parry, 59th, remain stable, Océane Dodin is 72nd after climbing three ranks.
