The German firm Adidas will be the equipment supplier of the XV of France for four years after the Paris-2024 Olympic Games, announced Thursday the new president of the French Rugby Federation, Florian Grill. “Today (Thursday) we validated an important partnership: Adidas has been chosen as the equipment partner of the French teams for a period of four years,” he declared during a press conference.
The three-stripe brand, which will replace Le Coq Sportif, has already supplied Les Bleus, the last time during the 2012-2018 period. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. “Serge Simon (outgoing vice-president of the FFR, editor’s note) presented the Partners Project to us, mentioning the possibility of marketing, a bit like other nations do, other spaces, the back of the jersey and the shorts. We think there is potential for additional income, ”added Grill after the FFR steering committee.
The 57-year-old entrepreneur was elected Wednesday at the head of the Federation to replace Alexandre Martinez, interim president since the resignation of Bernard Laporte.
