In the second round of the WTA 250 tournament in Nottingham, the world 72nd Alizé Cornet overcame the tournament’s number 1 seed Maria Sakkari in straight sets. In an hour and a half of play, the French won a double break in the first set, won 6-1. In the second, the Greek tried to come back but Cornet didn’t panic and finished the second set at 6-4.

In the quarter-finals, she will face the winner of the match Camilia Giorgi – Elizabeth Mandlik.
