Revealed by the Dauphiné Libéré this morning, the Groupama-FDJ rider Thibaut Pinot will officially take part in the last Tour de France of his career. Marc Madiot, the team’s sporting director, has confirmed Thibaut Pinot’s participation in the Tour.

The manager will leave with David Gaudu, Valentin Madouas as leaders. The Luxembourger Kevin Geniets and the Swiss Stefan Küng will also be part of the team. “We will also allow ourselves to be offensive with Thibaut Pinot, Valentin Madouas or even Stefan Küng” explained Marc Madiot in a press release.

In a route that leaves little room for sprinters to express themselves, Arnaud Démare, who is currently competing in the Tour de Suisse, bears the brunt of this announcement. For Pinot, this is his 10th and therefore last participation in the Tour de France. His best result remains his 3rd place in the general classification in 2014. The sporting director explains that his team “will be mountain-oriented. The objective is of course the general classification with David Gaudu. It was a difficult selection to establish.
