Good operation for Angers and Grenoble: SCO and GF38, respective winners of Rodez and Caen, moved the lines at the top of the ranking during the 23rd day of Ligue 2. The two clubs took advantage of the draw at Auxerre (now 2nd) in Pau 2-2 and the surprise defeat of Laval against Quevilly-Rouen (4-2). In the duel for first place in the ranking, which Auxerre and Angers have maintained since the 20th day, it is the turn of the Angevins to regain their place on the throne.

However, the latter were surprised in the 4th minute by a goal from Killian Corredor for Rodez. But Joseph Lopy (43rd) and Farid El-Melali (51st) allowed theirs to win once again in their den (2-1). Angers has never lost this season at the Raymond-Kopa stadium so far. Unlike SCO, Auxerre was off to a good start by scoring in Pau in the 2nd minute (Ado Onaiwu). But a double from Khalid Boutaïb (40th, 48th) gave the Palois the advantage. On a penalty, Jubal tied the two teams and left the Auxerres a good distance (4 pts) from the Grenoblois.

GF38 is the Top 4 team to have had the quietest evening, winning 5-1 over Caen, thanks in particular to a double from Pape Meissa Ba. Vincent Hognon’s men are one point ahead of Laval, beaten by QRM, 19th in L2. Trailing 2-0 at the break, against Quevilly who had only three victories in the league at kick-off, the Laval residents came back thanks to Malik Tchokounté (58th) and Antonin Bobichon (65th). But, reduced to 10 at the end of the match, they collapsed with a goal from Papa Ndiaga Yade (85th) then Alan Do Marcolino (90 4).

In the other matches of the evening, Troyes won at the end of the match against Bordeaux (2-1) while Amiens was joined by Paris FC (1-1). Annecy, climbs back to 17th place with its great victory on the pitch at Guingamp reduced to 9 (4-1) while Valenciennes, beaten at Concarneau 1-0, sinks (20th, 14 pts). Dunkirk remains level with Annecy (23 pts) thanks to its success against Saint-Etienne (1-0) at the opening of the 23rd day on Saturday. A day which will end on Monday with a Corsican derby between Bastia and Ajaccio, separated by ten points in the standings.
