At the end of the 3rd stage of the circuit, started six days ago in Sardinia and won on Saturday by navigator Thibaut Vauchel-Camus (Solidaires En Peloton-ARSEP), Erwan Le Roux (Koesio), 2nd in the stage, was guaranteed to finish in first place in the general classification.

“It’s a pleasure ! We did some great regattas in the Mediterranean, even if on this big stage, we didn’t win, but we set the pace, we fought well (…) It bodes well for the rest of the circuit Ocean Fifty”, rejoiced Le Roux on the pontoons in Brest.

The 48-year-old Trinitain has won the Transat Jacques Vabre three times (2009, 2013, 2015) in Multi 50 – former name of the Ocean Fifty – and the Route du Rhum twice (2014, 2022).

The Ocean Fifty class currently has five boats, all equipped with foils (appendages allowing them to fly). The Pro Sailing Tour, launched in 2021, is a crewed stage race. With his victory, Erwan Le Roux joins Sam Goodchild (2021) and Quentin Vlamynck on the list of winners of the event.
