In Brazil, a 36-year-old walled alive in a burial niche was rescued after around ten hours of martyrdom. According to police on Thursday, workers at the Visconde do Rio Branco cemetery in the state of Minas Gerais alerted emergency services on Tuesday after discovering traces of blood near a burial alcove freshly sealed with brick and cement.

Police heard someone inside calling for help, broke through the brick wall and pulled out a woman with injuries to her head and arms. Accordingly, the victim was apparently locked in the wall grave on Monday night.

According to police, the woman was the victim of a gang retaliation attack after drugs and weapons hidden in her home went missing. According to the woman, she and her husband were attacked by two masked men who broke into their house. Police are looking for two suspects, aged 20 and 22.
